Kirk W. Smith is a member of Buchalter’s Real Estate Practice Group in the Firm’s Portland office. Mr. Smith is an effective negotiator and creative problem solver who helps real estate clients resolve issues, negotiate complex transactions and contracts, and develop financing solutions. He has more than 25 years’ experience in all aspects of real estate, finance, redevelopment and business transactional law.

Mr. Smith’s clients include local and international real estate developers, national manufacturers and small private companies, foundations, and school districts. He has experience solving complex title and hazardous materials problems, and preparing acquisition documents, leases, loan documentation and opinion letters, and disposition and development agreements. Clients appreciate his ability to assess a situation, implement swift measures to resolve issues and think outside the box to complete projects.

Mr. Smith speaks Swedish and has studied international trade and finance in Stockholm, Sweden.

Mr. Smith completed his Graduate Diploma Program in 1985 at the University of Stockholm, Stockholm, Sweden. He earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1984 and his B.A. in International Relations and International Economics from Claremont McKenna College in 1981.
