Pooya E. Sohi represents public and private companies in a variety of state and federal court cases involving contract disputes, commercial litigation, and business torts, including tortious interference, fraud, and breach of fiduciary duty. Mr. Sohi has extensive experience in real estate litigation and has successfully prosecuted lawsuits involving multi-million dollar purchase and sale transactions, specific performance of sale agreements, and various other real estate related disputes including those arising from the financing of commercial properties, real estate investments, easement disputes, and broker disclosure issues. Mr. Sohi also represents regional and national lenders, banks, financial institutions, and REITs. In addition, Mr. Sohi has expertise in matters arising from partnership and joint venture disputes, creditor’s rights, receiverships, and intellectual property.
Among the representative litigation matters Mr. Sohi has handled are defense of claims for tens of millions of dollars arising from alleged fraud and Ponzi schemes, prosecution and defense of breach of contract and fraud claims between corporate entities and their principals, prosecution of claims against officers of publicly held companies for mismanagement and self-dealing, defense of class actions, and numerous other complex litigation matters.
Mr. Sohi also advises cannabis businesses as a member of the Firm’s Cannabis & Hemp Industry Law Group, whose representative clients include investment funds, multi-state operators, cultivators, manufacturers, distributors, retailers, intellectual property licensors, equipment lessors, factors, receivers, and lenders.

- Defended nationwide mortgage lender in breach of contract action alleging damages in excess of $40 million and involving secondary market securitizations of subprime mortgage loans.
- Represented lender in state court receivership action involving multiple properties and defaults on loans in excess of $30 million.
- Defended major pool filter manufacturer against product defect and failure to warn claims.
- Represented corporate client in the prosecution of a trade secret and unfair competition case and obtained a preliminary injunction that required the immediate turnover of misappropriated data, and prohibited defendants from doing business with customers through the use of client’s confidential information.
- Represented court-appointed receiver charged with the completion, marketing, and sale of multiple residential communities.
Mr. Sohi earned his J.D. at The University of California College of the Law, San Francisco, and his B.A., magna cum laude, in Political Science from the University of California, Davis.
