Class Action Award Penalizes Visalus $925M For Illegal Robocalls

“According to attorney Larry Steinberg, chair of the Multilevel Marketing Group at Los Angeles-based law firm Buchalter, there are dozens if not hundreds of TCPA cases in various stages all across the country. One of the reasons for the increasing popularity of the TCPA is the willingness on the part of courts, in many cases, to certify proposed class actions.
‘The TCPA is an issue that companies all over the country that market products or services are facing. Anybody who sells anything could become a defendant,’ said Steinberg, who added that ‘TCPA claims brought as proposed class actions present difficulties that are not present in some other types of class actions.'”
