Tiffany Ng and Doug Straus obtained a complete defense victory in a trial in San Francisco County Superior Court for their client Select Portfolio Servicing, Inc. (“SPS”). A mortgage borrower filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit claiming wrongful foreclosure. Tiffany and her colleague were hired to try the case after the Court of Appeal issued a pre-trial ruling in favor of the borrower and remanded the case for a trial. Tiffany unearthed numerous documents that were inconsistent with plaintiff’s trial testimony, thereby destroying plaintiff’s credibility. Tiffany was also instrumental in obtaining a ruling excluding one of plaintiff’s key witnesses. The client is thrilled with the results delivered by Buchalter in this multi-day trial.
