March 25, 2025 – Buchalter is pleased to announce the expansion and relocation of its Atlanta office to the Prominence Building, located at 3475 Piedmont Road, Suite 1100, NE, Atlanta, Georgia. The new space has approximately 30 attorney offices, with options for future expansion. Conveniently situated in Atlanta’s vibrant Buckhead district, the Prominence Building offers a dynamic business environment with extensive on-site amenities and excellent commuter access via GA-400, I-85, and the Buckhead MARTA station.
"Expanding in Atlanta is a key component of our firm’s broader strategy to grow in dynamic markets where our clients need us most," said Adam Bass, President and Chief Executive Officer of Buchalter. "With the increasing demand for sophisticated legal services in the Southeast, our investment in this market positions us to serve clients more effectively and foster long-term success. The Prominence Building’s prime location and modern amenities will allow us to better support our attorneys and clients."
Since opening in August 2024, Buchalter’s Atlanta office has grown significantly, now including approximately 25 attorneys and professional staff. The team brings deep expertise across a range of practice areas, particularly in intellectual property, complex commercial litigation, real estate and construction law. This is Buchalter’s second office in the Southeast having established a presence in Nashville in 2023.
Leading the Atlanta office is Seth Trimble, who serves as the Office Managing Shareholder. Joining Buchalter in 2024, Trimble leverages his nationwide experience litigating patent and trademark infringement cases, including trials in federal district courts and at the International Trade Commission, proceedings at the USPTO’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and appeals before the Federal Circuit. His practice spans a diverse range of technologies, including telecommunications software, wireless networking, utility monitoring systems, mobile device software, and manufacturing processes. Trimble also leads the office’s cybersecurity and data privacy practice.
Coby Nixon, Litigation Chair for the Atlanta office, also became part of Buchalter’s team in 2024. He has a national practice focusing on intellectual property litigation, with a strong emphasis on patent infringement cases. Recognized by Georgia Super Lawyers, Georgia Trend’s Legal Elite, and Best Lawyers in America, Nixon has an impressive record of success at trial, on appeal, and before the USPTO’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Nixon and Trimble collectively have been selected as counsel of record in more than 15% of all patent infringement cases filed in Georgia federal courts since 2016.
Amanda Hyland serves as the Intellectual Property Chair for the Atlanta office. She joined Buchalter last year, bringing her nationally recognized expertise in trademark and media law. Honored by Chambers, World Trademark Review, and Best Lawyers in America, Hyland is a leader in the IP community, serving as the immediate past president of the Atlanta IP Inn of Court and holding key roles in the International Trademark Association. Her practice focuses on trademark and copyright enforcement, litigation, portfolio management, and prepublication review for publishing and advertising clients.
Also joining the firm last year, Alison Ballard is an accomplished litigator with extensive experience representing clients in complex disputes across federal and state courts, arbitration, and administrative proceedings. She focuses on intellectual property, trade secrets, restrictive covenants, and commercial contracts. Ballard has a particular focus on technology clients, including publicly traded service providers and startups, and has significant experience handling large-scale data and forensic investigations.
Nicholas Dancey focuses his practice on the representation of real estate funds, pension funds, life insurance companies, independent sponsors, lenders and developers in domestic and international transactions, including financings, acquisitions, dispositions and joint ventures involving all asset classes. Dancey also advises investors, lenders and developers in complex transactions and has extensive experience working with private equity firms. He has represented some of the nation’s largest developers in over $1.5 billion of construction financings and has designed and implemented a real estate investment platform exceeding $1 billion for a foreign pension fund for investments into Europe.
Additionally, Russell Dunlap joined the office as a member of the Intellectual Property practice group. Dunlap’s expertise includes reviewing his clients’ products and processes to provide advice on best strategies for protecting their intellectual property through a combination of patentability and noninfringement searches, utility and/or design patents, trade secrets, copyrights, or trademarks. He also works hard to understand the realities behind these strategies, including product development timelines and costs, sales and licensing opportunities, and potential competitors’ responses.
Mark Carter, who joined Buchalter in early 2025, brings a wealth of experience in construction law, representing owners, developers, contractors, and suppliers nationwide. He is well-versed in negotiating design-build, EPC, and material supply contracts, as well as successfully handling construction litigation in courts and arbitration. His deep knowledge of industry-standard forms, such as AIA and ConsensusDocs, makes him a valuable asset to clients navigating complex construction projects.
The most recent addition to Buchalter’s Atlanta office, Brian Goldberg joined Buchalter in March 2025. A seasoned litigator, Goldberg brings extensive experience handling complex commercial and business disputes, real estate litigation, landlord/tenant disputes, creditor-rights litigation, lender-liability defense, professional liability, and premises liability litigation. He represents a wide range of clients, including publicly traded companies, national banks, mortgage servicers, property management companies, small businesses, investors, and individuals in both state and federal court. He has served as first-chair in jury trials and has significant experience litigating complex bankruptcy disputes and adversary proceedings in Georgia and other jurisdictions.
"The continued growth of our Atlanta office reflects both the demand for our services and the depth of talent we have brought together here," added Seth Trimble. "This expansion gives us the resources and flexibility to better serve our clients while continuing to attract top legal talent to the region. With our new space in the Prominence Building, we are well-positioned to serve clients while benefiting from the surrounding amenities and accessibility that make this location ideal for business.”
