Buchalter Nemer is pleased to announce that David A. Lurker has joined the firm in Orange County as a Shareholder in its Real Estate Practice Group. Joining from Voss Cook & Thel, LLP, Mr. Lurker has more than 30 years of experience guiding real estate clients in effective deal structuring through various economic and industry cycles in virtually all segments of the real estate market.
“David’s knowledge of the recent history of the real estate sector will be an excellent asset for our clients as they navigate the transaction environment in 2016 and beyond,” said Adam J. Mr. Lurker represents owners, developers, investors, contractors, landlords, tenants, property managers and lenders in transactions that involve purchases and sales, development, leasing, and construction of all types of projects. These projects include retail, office, industrial, residential, multifamily, senior housing, churches and nonprofit ventures.
“Real estate transactional activity, including new development, saw a definite upswing last year and that trend should continue this next year,” said Lurker. “This trend is encouraging, and I look forward to advising clients through these more dynamic times and helping them to navigate potential concerns, such as increasing interest rates.”
Mr. Lurker has extensive experience in acquisitions and dispositions, exchanges, entitlement and subdivision matters, negotiation of construction and permanent loans, construction disputes, leases (ground, office, industrial, retail) property management, workouts and foreclosures.
Mr. Lurker also developed a highly-valued corporate transactional practice with small to mid-size companies across a range of industries, including advising and assisting start-ups, forming business entities, advising on potential litigation, and more.
In addition to his practice, Mr. Lurker has been actively involved in a number of trade organizations, including the Associated General Contractors – Legal Advisory Committee. He earned his J.D., with distinction, at the McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific. He earned his B.A., magna cum laude, from California State University at Long Beach.
