March 2, 2021. Buchalter’s Products Liability team represented our client, Hyundai Motor America, in a trial victory obtained in Orange County Superior Court. Plaintiff brought suit against Hyundai claiming that the subject 2016 Hyundai Accent was defectively designed and manufactured. Plaintiff sought an award of $15.4 million against Hyundai. The jury returned a complete defense verdict following a 10-day trial. The case involved complicated issues of causation and complex medical expert testimony. At trial, Attorneys Michael Preciado and Colton Parks led the Buchalter team. Senior Counsel Anne Marie Ellis and Attorney Taylor Brown were also instrumental in this case and trial.
