Damaris Medina presented “Top Legal Issues Facing Urgent Care,” at the Urgent Care Association of America’s (UCAOA) 2016 Spring Convention on April 18 in Orlando, FL. In this session, Ms. Medina explored the key legal issues facing urgent care providers and their owners, whether at startup or during operation. Topics discussed included: The Corporate Practice of Medicine, the Stark Law, the Anti-Kickback Statute, Corporate Compliance, and Payor Contracting. The session provided practical guidance for both physicians and private business investors seeking to maximize business goals.
